Googles OS CHROME TO COMPETITE WITH MS WINDOWS 7

Google is working hard to create its OS from ground up to run Chrome web browser on netbooks. And I personally feel as far the Indian IT market is concerned this won’t be a great success.

Techcrunch seems to be partial writing this article on their blog, and I guess using a word like NUCLEAR BOMB is really irrational, may be the American IT industry would be well acquitained with netbooks but where the global market is concered , the netbooks are not yet success due to unavailability of bandwidth in major countries.

Microsoft is smart enough to read the mind of its competitors and specially when it comes to their own domain of Operating Systems, they dont leave any space and option of choice for selecting any OS for users other than windows or linux ;) . All best applications and development tools require a strong platform like Windows OS / Linux and the web utility tools are not stable engough to solve the purpose yet.

Though it’s a genius play and not difficult thing to do for a company like Google as they are sound with their web technology team and also with financial Apple :) .

Google Chrome OS is built to run on both x86 architecture chips and ARM chips, like the ones increasingly found in netbooks.Obviously, this Chrome OS will be lightweight and fast just like the browser itself. But also just like the browser, it will be open-sourced.

As Google writes, “We have a lot of work to do, and we’re definitely going to need a lot of help from the open source community to accomplish this vision.” They might as well set up enlistment booths on college campuses for their war against Microsoft.

Google says the software architecture will basically be the current Chrome browser running inside “a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel.” So in other words, it basically is the web as an OS. And applications developers will develop for it just as they would on the web. This is similar to the approach Palm has taken with its new webOS for the Palm Pre, but Google notes that any app developed for Google Chrome OS will work in any standards-compliant browser on any OS.

But I personally feel why should anyone prefer to use google OS it would be better to go with UBUNTU to run a netbook or any other OS which is already having many more tools and is already in stable mode rather than google chrome OS beta which may stay beta for several years like gmail  yet.

Google plans to release the open source code for Chrome OS later this year ahead of the launch next year. Don’t be surprised if this code drops around the same time as Windows 7. Can’t wait to hear what Microsoft will have to say about all of this. Good thing they have a huge conference next week.
